Now inviting beta readers

What if it’s not rest you need, but a reset?

Before The Soulful Reset is published, I’m inviting a small circle of readers to live with it for four weeks this January, and help shape what it becomes.

There’s room for about twenty. One of those places could be yours.

Take a breath with me.

The Soulful Reset is about what happens when life asks you to stop, and what it means to reset rather than just rest.

Restis recovery.

Resetis repositioning.

Inside every entry

Here for me. Here for you.

Each reflection carries my testimony, where God showed up in my story. Each one also leaves an open door: a quote, a declaration, and a prompt for every reader, whatever you believe.

A taste, from the first entry

I release what no longer serves me and trust God to meet me in the space that letting go creates.

I am not giving up—I am making room. And what’s coming is worth the space I’m creating.

Take one side, or take both. Every entry makes room for you.

What this is

Twenty entries. Four will be yours.

Five themes, four entries each. You’ll hold one theme for four weeks in January, one entry a week, the way a real reader would.

All twenty entries, across all five themes.

  • Reading for flow, theme order, and whether the ending lands
  • Two or three readers, personally invited

Choosing this raises your hand. I’ll reach out personally if it’s a fit. If it isn’t this time, you’ll still have a place as a Reader in your theme.

A note from Christina

I’m getting ready to share The Soulful Reset with a small group of readers before it’s published, and I’d love for you to be one of them.

I’m not looking for a polished review. I’m looking for honest reactions: where it lands, where it doesn’t, and what it stirs in you.

I’d be grateful if you’d join me. What does a soulful reset mean to you?

With love,
Christina 💛Christina E. Jones, M.Ed., Ed.S. · Author · Founder, Humane in the Membrane

Before you join

Just between us,

The book isn’t published yet, so I’ll ask you to accept a short Beta Reader Agreement with HITM Publishing. Here it is in plain terms.

  • Keep it between us.Please don’t share, copy, post, or upload the drafts until the book is published.
  • Your feedback shapes the book.It can be used to improve the book, without credit, payment, or co-authorship.
  • This is reflection, not therapy.Go at your own pace, skip anything, and stop anytime.
  • Sessions may be recorded. For internal use only, if you choose to join one.
  • You’re 18 or older.

This summary makes it easier to read, but it doesn’t replace the agreement. Read the full Beta Reader Agreement. When you sign up, you’ll check a box and type your full name to accept it. No drafts are sent until you do.

A few questions

How much time will this take?

Plan on [about 20 minutes] a week to read the entry and try the practice, plus under two minutes for the Friday check-in. The month runs January 4–29, and the kickoff on January 4 is 45 minutes. If you choose Reader + Conversation, add one 30-minute conversation in early February.

What happens if I need to stop?

Then you stop. No explanation needed. Just reply to any program email to let me know. The one thing I’ll ask is that you delete the drafts you’ve received and keep them private, even after you step away.

Will my words be quoted?

Not unless you say yes. At the end of the month, I’ll ask whether you’re comfortable being quoted, and you’ll choose how: full name, first name and last initial, initials, anonymous, or not at all. Saying no changes nothing about your place in the group.

Is this therapy?

No. The Soulful Reset offers spiritual and personal reflection. It isn’t therapy, counseling, or medical care. Some entries may stir things up, and you choose how deep to go. If you’re struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or someone you trust.
